Provimi's half-year sales up 34%

Provimi's (Rotterdam, the Netherlands) net sales for first-half 2001 rose 19.6% to 752.2 million guilders, taking into account the pro forma restatement of acquisitions, and operating income rose 3.3% to 43.9 million guilders. It plans to continue its acquisition strategy, and to expand fishfeed capacity in Chile and Denmark and dry petfood capacity in the Czech Republic, among other activities.

Evialis: strategy and results

Alain Decrop, president of Evialis, is interviewed and discusses the company's strategy. The French animal nutrition group changed its name from Guyomarc'h, but retained its slogan, "the freedom to act." The company, according to Decrop, envisions an increase in sales and is also targeting consulting as another concentrated effort.
