The company has a 10-year agreement with ILVE and a new 10-year agreement with Morice, which also supplies upmarket cookers that can even be customized. The company has funds for acquisitions but is more likely to seek to grow organically. Stoves: coming off the boil
Article Abstract:
Stoves is a UK producer of cookers which has seen a strong performance for its shares since their flotation in Jun 1996. The company may have problems in achieving profit forecasts for 1996, and this could halt the rise in its share price. Raw material costs are increasing, as is price competition, and consumer demand is flat. Stoves is seeking to increase prices by between 4%and 5% and aims to expand into the market for electric cookers, but the company's share price still does not appear sustainable in Mar 1996.
