Raytheon, United Defense announce naval missile deals

Raytheon Company and United Defense Industries, Inc. have announced two separate contracts with the Navy for missiles and missile-related equipment. Raytheon has received a $158 million contract for continued production of AIM-9X Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missiles and support materials while United Defense Industries, Inc. has received a contract in excess of $104 million to produce Mk 14 Mod 2 Tomahawk canisters compatible with the Navy's new Tactical Tomahawk missile for firing from Vertical Launching System (VLS) Mk 41.
