Reckitt and Colman
Article Abstract:
Reckitt and Colman has a large number of strong brands, and should benefit from a merger with Benckiser, which offers a strong management team. The Benckiser chief executive, Bart Becht, will head the new company resulting from the merger. Non-core operations look set to be sold, and cost savings can be achieved. The sector has been affected by results from Unilever which disappointed analysts, but Reckitt and Colman is a more focused group which should achieve growth.
