Rep. Hunter says Defense offset deals harm U.S

U.S. defense contractors, suppliers and workers suffer seriously when some nations buy American weapons only when a part of their work is done in those nations under the so-called offset agreements. According to Rep. Duncan Hunter, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, this is happening due to the laws enacted by the Congress, which must be changed, to stop business opportunities and technology from getting transferred to foreign countries.

Krieg welcomes non-U.S. suppliers as Northrop teams with EADS

Kenneth Krieg, the new under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics welcomed non-US defense companies wishing to vie with or join American firms in seeking weapons contracts. He approved the action of the US defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corporatiion teaming with European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) to bid for possible huge Air force contract for aerial refueling tankers.
