Research notes and communications management and organizational change: a note on the railroad industry
Article Abstract:
The age, company service, and form of education of managers have a distinct effect on their ability to alter strategies through time. Based on data from 855 managers from 27 railroad companies it was gathered that younger and more inexperienced executives have a greater tendency toward strategic change due to varying environmental factors. Managers with MBA degrees were characteristically associated with such change, although years of education is considered irrelevant to altering strategies.
