Article Abstract:

Retention's goin' to the dogs
Article Abstract:
Fujitsu, Seagate, Aeromark and Sylvan Learning Systems are among an increasing number of companies which are offering pet insurance to employees under a program managed by employee benefits management service Rewards Plus. The benefit includes reduced-cost services such as veterinary care, pet sitting, grooming and training and boarding. Employees Services Management Assn spokesperson Cindy Helson says that this unique perk has been driven by demand from digruntled employees with no children. Such workers have found themselves alienated because many corporate benefits center on the family.

Change of scene
Article Abstract:
An increasing number of companies across industries are resorting to innovative, inventive, experiencial modes of training to motivate and retain employees. Trainers have turned to dynamic areas such as nature, music, play, improvisation, combat strategy and Shakespearean dramas for motivational inspiration. Creators of such motivational techniques say that the offbeat methods will expose employees to a learning approach that they will more likely remember. They also believe that such training programs link directly to the corporate strategy. However, experiential learning has an element of risk, which is the initial resistance that some participants may exhibit to a new way of learning.
