Shandwick rides 'Net to top in L.A

Shandwick has climbed to the number one spot in a ranking of PR firms in Los Angeles, CA. It posted a 29l.4% increase to $15,403,000, edging out Flishman-Hillard and Hill and Knowlton, the leading companies in the 1998 ranking. The success of Shandwick is attributable to the dramatic growth of dot-com and E-com businesses, which are involved in the high-technology and entertainment sectors in Southern California, and its senior management team, which are responsible for bringing in high-profile accounts to the firm.

Shandwick PA, Weber Group & MWW post big gains in D.C
Article Abstract:
A ranking of PR firms in Washington, DC, revealed that Shandwick PA, Weber Group and MWW Group had the largest percent gains based on fee income in 1999. Shandwick was on top with a 438% surge in 1999 fee income to $69.4 million which was attributable to its $80-million purchase of Cassidy Cos. Weber Group posted an increase of 86% to $17.4 million. MWW Group posted a 205% percent increase in income to the $7.1 million mark and climbed to the No 14 spot.
