Some firms do not agree with the connection of mineral water producers
Article Abstract:
Karlovarske mineralni vody (KMV) (Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic), Hanacka kyselka (Czech Republic) and Podebradka (Podebrady, Czech Republic), mineral water producers, plan to merge. The prepared merger should be decided by the Antimonopoly Office by the end of Jul 2001. Reasons for the merger are competitiveness on the European and global markets and a decrease in costs. KMV has a 46% share on the domestic mineral water market, Podebradka a 16% share and Hanacka Kyselka a 19% share. The merger of the firms would set up an entity with an absolute and dominant position on the market. The step would liquidate small-scale producers.
