According to a survey, US companies in 1993 have allotted more than $670 bil on SCM which covers the monitoring the flow of products, services and related information across a network connecting suppliers to manufacturers to distribution centers to warehouses to retailer and to consumers. The SCM is expected to increase value for the consumer, decrease expenses of the organization and improve the process.
