Squeaky clean and exceptionally efficient
Article Abstract:
The Stock Exchange of Singapore is extremely efficient. A computerized book-entry system clears all trades, and investors can open accounts with the central depository, bypassing brokerages. Automated Trading Centres located across the island make it easy for investors to conduct transactions. The exchange remains concerned about growth, however, in part because it must look outside of Singapore for new listings.
