Bernard Solomons of Allied Provincial
Article Abstract:
Allied Provincial Securities (APS) Chairman and CEO Bernard Solomons created a niche market before the technique became popular, and he was rewarded with almost 10% of the UK private client market, making the firm one of the UK's biggest private client stockbroking firms. APS was formed by the integration of eight provincial stockbroking firms into one company. The total core private client market has declined, but inherited wealth is expected to increase between 1991 and 2001, and Solomons believes that stockbrokers have a responsibility to obtain a share of the money that will be invested.
