Strategies and boundaries: subcontracting in construction
Article Abstract:
Subcontracting in the construction business is used to examine the definition and alteration of organizational activity boundaries and relationships. The study sample consisted of 24 general subcontractors based in Istanbul. Results indicate that: the level of subcontracting is determined by an interaction of business strategy, construction technology and administrative limitations; and contractors can be classified as defenders, prospectors, analyzers, or reactors depending on their administrative orientation.

An international comparison of accounting-based payout restrictions in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany
Article Abstract:
Research into UK, US and German business organisations reveals that they all face similar restrictions in their ability to pay dividends to shareholders. Differences are due to the origin of the restrictions rather than to their nature. US corporations face dividend restrictions which are mainly related to debt contracting, German firms have legal restrictions and UK corporations face legal restrictions and constraints related to debt covenants.
