Phil Shohet, director of KATO, a consultancy specializing in practice management, suggests that feature of any well-run practice should be the manner in which work is planned, organized and completed. There are too many firms that allow their clients to take control of the process and if the clients are allowed to hang on their paperwork, it leads to spending money on support from external bookkeepers, or making partners and staff work long hours, while neglecting other clients.
