The Cartagena Protocol and the future of agbiotech
Article Abstract:
The development of rules in the biotech industry especially in the Cartagena Protocol indicates that it may cause harm to the solution for food security and health problems as found through the public research mainly in the developing countries. Various scientists have decided to voice their opinion against the implementation of the Cartagena Protocol as it may have some adverse effects on the research and development in biotechnology.

Biotechnology's use of phage therapy using bacteriophages to overcome the threat to public health crisis due to antibiotic resistant bacteria is presented. Physicians are forced to adopt the phage therapy because of the growing antibiotic resistance and the exit of major companies from antibiotic development.
