The Companies Act 1989: the business aspects
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the UK Companies Act 1989 amendments to provisions for company charges, company records, and related matters is presented. New provisions amending the registration of company charges: permit registrars to keep registers in the form they believe is fit; abrogates the requirement of delivering the instrument creating a charge to the registrar; and permits the delivery of particulars for registration to be made at any time. In the area of company records, the Act amends provisions for: documents that are required to be legible and delivered to a registrar; a registrar's keeping of records; changes of registered office; annual return dates; and records' contents.

The Financial Services Act summed up
Article Abstract:
One of the main purposes of Great Britain's Financial Services Act is to offer protection to the public from dishonest or unscrupulous individuals. The government can, through its special investigations branch, provide a disqualification direction regarding any person not seen as fit to be employed in the investment business. Other key areas covered by the Financial Services Act include: the classification of firms, investigations, takeovers, winding-up and administration orders, and the rehabilitation of offenders.
