The TQM route to the top of the class
Article Abstract:
Total quality management (TQM), which was first utilized in the manufacturing industry, was later adopted by the services industry. In a report in the journal of the American Society for Quality Control, only 105 US school districts, public and private, are using TQM. Schools should realize the value attached to practicing TQM, as recently shown by the health care industry. However, for any company adopting TQM, senior managers should lead the way. They should be able to know which comes first in the agenda, and who the best person is for a particular task.
