The boundaries for joint angles of isocomfort for sitting and standing males based on perceived comfort of static joint postures
Article Abstract:
Values for joint angles of isocomfort were determined at minimal levels for most joint postures around the ankle, wrist, neck and elbow and were similar to the maximum range of motion values for these joints. This suggests standing postures cause more discomfort for hip joints than for other joints.

The effects of neutral posture deviations on perceived joint discomfort ratings in sitting and standing postures
Article Abstract:
An examination of the effects of posture on perceived muscle and joint discomfort among workers in uniform working conditions was conducted. Perceived discomfort ratings were obtained among 12 males and seven females who participated in the study. The ratings were then compared with a set of of neutral postures used as a standard. Different classes of joint deviations were revealed as ranking the most in perceived stress.

Joint angles of isocomfort for female subjects based on the psychophysical scaling of static standing postures
Article Abstract:
Psychophysical scaling for static standing postures held for 60s, obtained in a laboratory experiment regarding joint angles of isocomfort for females, is discussed. It is presumed that females are more vulnerable to musculoskeletal disorders, and should be assigned jobs needing smaller joint deviation, less muscle force, shorter task exposure and more breaks compared to males.
