The breeder's dilemma-yield or nutrition?
Article Abstract:
The farmers search for higher yields and lower farming costs has given way to reduced nutritional crop which are responsible for causes of obesity and cardiovascular disease while the animal feeds have resulted in reduced nutritional qualities of animal based food. Plant breeders have to make a significant shift from traditional selection criteria to create foods that constitute healthy diets.

Transcriptome characterization elucidates signaling networks that control human ES cell growth and differentiation
Article Abstract:
An unlimited supply of cells for replacement therapies is investigated and it appears that the human embryonic stem (hES) cells hold promise for generating an unlimited supply of such cells. Genomic data presented in this research may facilitate the derivation of clinically useful cell types from hES cells beneficial for cell growth and differentiation.
