The end of the beginning
Article Abstract:
Recruitment experts Reena Rai and Judith Mills both emphasize that the emotional burden of redundancy must first be dealt with to ensure that the ensuing job search not be hampered by residual emotional debris. Mills notes that the task of seeking a new job must begin with a preliminary self-appraisal. Rai, likewise, suggests that realistic objectives should be set. Both experts urge that a curriculum vitae be used as a marketing tool, with emphasis being placed on job responsibilities and achievements. Four sources of jobs are recommended: recruitment agencies, advertisements, networking, and speculative strategies. Techniques for job interviews and the possibilities of consulting and sole practitionership are also discussed.

Organic farming: set to grow?
Article Abstract:
A scientific experiment on organic farming is being conducted by one of the world leaders in the agrochemical industry. Rhone-Poulenc is utilizing a 37.6-acre farm in Essex, UK, to learn more about organic farming, which seeks to employ natural methods to regenerate soil. The primary concern of the company is to know whether organic farming is economically viable, beneficial to the environment, and capable of producing food of higher quality compared to that produced by conventional farming. Achieving these objectives involves careful comparison of produce, costs, and environmental impact of organic and conventional production. The experiment is expected to take at least one decade to complete.
