Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the business trends of major banks in various European Monetary Union member countries that have monetary policy issues from the European Central Bank. Their competitive potential and strategic behaviour in terms of consolidation, mergers and acquisitions were discussed. The corporate philosophy and the legal form of some banking groups were also revealed.
