The next 50 years: future challenges and opportunities for empathy in our science
Article Abstract:
The author believes if ergonomics planning is to grow as a profession, practitioners must learn to adapt and use empathy. As industries change, the science of ergonomics will change and in order to implement new policies, planners must be both empathetic with the needs of employees and the needs of business.

The impact of feedback to already situationally empowered operators on the performance of complex manufacturing technology is studied. Implications for theory and practice in the management of complexes technology are discussed.
