The private client sets the agenda
Article Abstract:
Private client stockbrokers in north west England cater for a range of clients including those who have received redundancy compensation, and people who have inherited capital. Many brokers are seeking fees in place of commission in order to stabilise their income. Cazenove is an exception in that it charges commissions. Execution-only services have become more important for some companies such as Gall and Eke, while others, such as Fairmount Stockbokers focus less on execution-only deals.

The specialists have it
Article Abstract:
Stockbrokers in Manchester, England, have been affected by deregulation in the UK financial services industry. They note a higher level of professionalism and greater specialization. Competition is increasing especially for high net worth private investors. Brokers are faced with technological developments which have led to computers being used more than telephones. Visual telephones are seen as one way in which contact could be re-established with clients.
