The relationship between circadian, personality, and temperament characteristics and attitude towards shiftwork
Article Abstract:
The effect of circadian rhythm and personality characteristics on work attitudes in shift systems is investigated. Results show that flexibility of sleeping habits and the ability to overcome drowsiness have the most significant impact in determining attitude towards shiftwork. Moreover, reactivity has the most significant impact towards attitude among former shiftworkers. Therefore, circadian, personality and temperament variables contribute in affecting attitude to a limited extent.

The reliability and stability of various individual difference and toleranceto shiftwork measures
Article Abstract:
The reliability and stability of various shiftwork tolerance parameters are evaluated. A subsample of 61 shiftworkers are re-examined using the same questionnaires and administration procedure nineyears later. Results show that the instruments used have satisfactory internal consistency, and the correlations between the scores obtained in two occasions are very high. Therefore, the individual difference and shiftwork tolerance measures are temporally stable.

Individual differences in circadian rhythm parameters and short-term tolerance to shiftwork: a follow-up study
Article Abstract:
Individual differences incircadian parameters are analyzed in order to predict differences in tolerance to shiftwork. Specifically, the variables being considered are temperature, negative moods and fatigue. Results show that people who have a lower amplitudeof 24-hour variations in these variables before entering shiftwork tend to havebetter night shift tolerance after working in shifts for one and three years than those with a greater amplitude.
