The simple economics of bank fragility
Article Abstract:
A study of the risks inherent in the banking industry is presented. As the banks are interlinked through deposits markets, participations in syndicated loans and interest rates, the crumbling of one link is likely to result in cascading effect. A method for minimizing such exposure to risk is suggested.
