The road to satisfaction
Article Abstract:
Providing employees with company cars is a popular form of employee compensation with British companies because of the tax advantages of non-cash remuneration. There are three main methods of acquiring and operating a commercial fleet: outright purchase, leasing, and contract hire. There are six cost elements to be considered when comparing the prices of different methods and suppliers: finance, insurance, maintenance, fuel, incidentals, and management. Quotations from five British leasing and rental companies are compared to show the advantages and disadvantages of each fleet acquisition method.
