Information-control problems require information-sharing solutions
Article Abstract:
Organizational difficulties and technical deficiencies have precluded the integration of corporate information systems. Individual departments still maintain separate bookkeeping functions, microcomputer hardware and software are often purchased without the advice of data processing people, and no sophisticated treasury hardware or software exists to link treasury information with other corporate information systems. Data integrity, security, and communication among departments is required to solve the organizational and technical problems. Three micro-to-mainframe communications products for information sharing are described.
