Trends in film processing
Article Abstract:
The 35mm processed film format is still dominant with a 28.3% share of the residential market. An average of one-third of US households conducted film processing per month, based on the 1998 PMA U.S. Consumer Photo Buying Report. The alternative Advanced Photo System format received just a 1.2% market share per month. Disposable cameras received 5.8% each month. The same document showed that 9% of households patronized one-hour minilabs or camera stores for film processing. Drugstores and discount stores proved to be the most lucrative film processing locations.
