Changes in diversification among very large food manufacturing firms in the 1980s
Article Abstract:
A study of restructuring at 10 of the largest food manufacturers was conducted to determine if such restructurings followed corporate strategists' recommendations to decrease unrelated and increase related diversification. The results showed that only half of the firms followed the suggested pattern of restructuring.

Trends in food quality regulation: implications for processed food trade and foreign direct investment
Article Abstract:
National level food regulations exert an unpredictable degree of influence over the performance of foreign direct investment and processed food trade. The food trade specifications in the North American Free Trade Agreement and World Trade Organization will ensure that the rapprochement ideals of harmonization, mutual recognition and coordination are recognized. Hence, the influence of these national-level regulations would diminish over time only to be replaced by new regulations.
