Tumor targeting with a selective gelatinase inhibitor
Article Abstract:
Several streams of evidence suggest that tumor growth, angeogenesis, and metastasis are dependent on matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) activity. The lack of inhibitors specific for the type IV collagenase/gelatinase family of MMPs has so far prevented the selective targeting MMP-2 (gelatinase A) and MMP-9 (gelatinaseB) for therapeutic intervention in cancer.

Structure of the amino-terminal domain of Cbl complexed to its binding site on ZAP-70 kinase
Article Abstract:
Cbl is an adaptor protein that works as a negative regulator of many signaling pathways that begin from receptors at the cell surface. The evolutionarily conserved amino-terminal segment of Cbl (Cbl-N) binds to phosphorylated tyrosine residues and has cell transforming activity.

In vivo near-infrared fluorescence imaging of osteoblastic activity
Article Abstract:
Researchers in the U.S. have synthesized a near-infrared fluorescent bisphosphonate derivative that can be used to image osteoblastic activity in vitro and in vivo that is faster than current technology, and produces a clearer image.
