Turkish, Indian banks sell big equity stakes

Turkey-based Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi sold nearly three quarters of its initial public offerings in November 2005 to foreign institutional investors. The bank issued securities for a $1.28 billion. India's ICICI bank also offered $433 million of American depository shares in December, 2005. A quarter of these shares were purchased by Japanese investors.
