World Paper Keeps Growing
Article Abstract:
The World Paper' is a unique global publication. It is located and published in Boston. The publication appears in four different language editions. It only covers major news stories, with an emphasis on politics. The publication is read in countries in East Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe. In some sections of the world, 'World Paper' is read by more people than many major United States international news publications. However, because it is not read in the United States, 'World Paper' has trouble convincing media buyers that it is a viable publication. Although its advertising revenue is increasing, numerous investors still provide part of the capital necessary to publish the newspaper. 'World Paper' relies on a number of correspondents in various countries to provide most of its editorial content.

Print Media in Black Africa Struggle for Recognition
Article Abstract:
Although 'Black Africa' provides a huge market, its media is hampered by an underdeveloped economy and government regulation. Pan-African journalism generally comes from London and Paris. The flow of information still follows old patterns. News of events in Africa reaches Europe faster than other African countries. Distribution and transportation present major problems for Pan-African publications. Competition for advertising dollars is fierce. Successful Pan-African publications include the now defunct 'Drum', African Business', an economic journal and the 'New African'. Observers agree that as 'Black Africa' stabilizes and becomes more developed, the circulation and distribution of the Pan-African press will also improve.
