Underground auditing
Article Abstract:
Environmental auditing for the purpose of environmental risk assessment is becoming more important to companies. Risks could include clean up costs for the company and legal penalties for directors and executives. Those that face risks are not only those firms that create toxic hazards, but those who supply, use, store, transport, or sell hazardous materials. Firms that lease, lend to or invest in firms that use hazardous materials could also be liable. After the risk is assessed and procedures for reducing the risks are documented, the environmental audit should then include a written environmental protection policy for the firm.
