Veronis arm plans T/SF Communications expansion

T/SF Communications Corp was absorbed by Veronis Suhler and Assoc Partners II LP in 1997 for $145 million. It is planning to expand its operations, which include trucking, legalized gaming, trade show, publishing and trade mark/trade name industries. The company is eyeing the international market, particularly Europe, South Africa, Asia and Latin America. The company's diverse operation includes Transportation Information Services, which represented 40% of its business, Galaxy Registration and Atwood Convention Publishing which together comprise 30% and G.E.M. Communications.

'Business Marketing' magazine has undergone numerous changes since it was launched by publisher G.D. Crain in Mar 1916. The magazine was first named 'Class' and targeted readers in the field of business-to-business advertising. It was then renamed 'Class and Industrial Marketing' and merged with the magazine 'Advertising Age' in 1933 as part of austerity measures following the Great Depression. The magazine was again renamed 'Business Marketing' in 1983.
