Article Abstract:
Telemarketing managers need to know about state-of-the-art equipment such as digital switching systems. Digital processing occurs when the analog signal is converted into binary encoding. The change to binary encoding has resulted in better communications, allowing for interface with computers and special equipment can be added to a system. Digital switching can result in increased profits for the user, if for no other reason than that the entire industry is going toward digital use. Also, a digital switching system can be used for selling to the general public during off hours, thus increasing revenues and decreasing costs of installation of the system. Caution is expressed for those telecommunications managers who will undertake installation of such a system themselves; expert advice is needed to realize full benefits.
