Bridging the earnings GAAP
Article Abstract:
An investigation is conducted to determine whether companies use adjusted earnings per share (EPS) in order to exaggerate their financial results or whether they use it for a different motive. Cases of companies are found that use varying terminology for the same EPS construct and it is observed that different companies are using the same label to describe different constructs for an increase in the transparency of performance reporting.
