Fleet navigators
Article Abstract:
Companies may take one of several approaches to vehicle fleet management. One strategy is to exercise contract hire arrangement. It involves the medium-term hiring of a vehicle for a pre-arranged mileage and term at a constant rate. Usually, the contract hire firm shoulders complete obligation for the maintenance of the vehicles. Contract hiring is a cost-effective way of vehicle acquisition because it does not involve any risk and transfers the administration work from the client company to the contract hire firm. However, this tactic does not apply to everycompany, particularly those with the financial resources and the skills in vehicle purchasing and supervision. An alternative approach for these companiesis to manage fleets in-house with the use of computer software which allows more control and flexibility. The last approach some companies can adopt is to acquire their own vehicles and just hire outside contractors for their maintenance.
