Vosper Thorneycroft
Article Abstract:
Vosper Thorneycroft is a UK Producer of warships which is shedding 300 jobs, and is likely to shed more if no new orders are won. The company did not win a contract worth 400 million pounds sterling from the Royal Navy in Feb 1996, though it argues that the price offered by its rival, GEC, was unattractive. The company has orders worth over 450 million pounds sterling and is moving into facilities management, away from warships. The company's profit is forecast at 30.2 million pounds sterling for 1996 to 1997, and 31.9 million pounds for the following year by Panmure Gordon.
