Riding a Net wave
Article Abstract:
There is a temptation to invest in favorite stocks since new investment ideas are difficult to obtain, but the aim is to sleect 30 stocks each from California and New York, to form two portfolios. A number of investors are only interested in Nasdaq stocks and are avoiding stocks that appear to be related to traditional business. This means that companies not linked to telecoms, the media, the internet or technology in general have problems in being taken seriously. There has also been a narrowing of the new economy stocks.

When two wrongs make a right
Article Abstract:
Chartism is a technique for selecting stocks which uses graphic analysis of stock price movements. There are a number of popular signals for investors to take action, either by buying or selling stocks, and they include the golden cross. Pure chartism does not take risk into account, so chartist portfolios may be risky, and bring rewards for taking risks. Chartism would have no advantages if markets were efficient, but equity markets may sometimes be inefficient, and chartism may work under these irrational conditions.
