With new plant, EADS plants another foot in U.S. market

The European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company's North American branch opens it's new facility in Columbus, Mississippi where the opening of Columbus plant supports a stated company strategy of expanding its share of the U.S. defense market. The plant has lined up $75 million worth of manufacturing work from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for border patrol helicopters, and may support another $124 million contract with DHS for Coast Guard helicopter upgrades.

EADS gains missile order from Spain
Article Abstract:
A unit of European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) has received the Taurus missiles order from the Spanish armed forces. TAURUS Systems GmbH (TSG) received the contract for series production of the Taurus missiles from SENER, the Spanish company, and these air-to-ground missile systems are planned as armament for the Spanish F-18 and Eurofighter aircraft.

PRV candidate NH90 passes test for Finns
Article Abstract:
The Air Force's personnel recovery vehicle (PRV) candidate, EADS, has passed test of the first NH90 helicopter produced for the Finnish Armed Forces. This successful test would be the basis of EADS' bid on PRV that the European-based aerospace giant would make in partnership with Northrop Grumman Corp.
