Activity coefficients at infinite dilution measurements for organic solutes and water in the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoroacetate
Article Abstract:
Gas-liquid chromatography (GLC) method was used for measuring the activity coefficients at infinite dilution for various solutes in the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoroacetate [EMIM][TFA] in the temperature range from 298.15 to 368.15 K. Higher selectivity in the ionic liquid was observed.

Double-chain cationic surfactant and n-pentanol: an L3 phase in the rich-water domain?
Article Abstract:
Phase evolution in a ternary system consisting of dioctadecyldimethyl-ammonium bromide (DODAB), water and pentanol in the water-rich corner of the phase system is examined. Findings reveal the existence of the well-known [L.sub.3] or sponge phase in the system
