In situ infrared spectroscopy of glyoxylic acid adsorption and photocatalysis on TiO2 aqueous solution

The adsorption from aqueous solution and the photocatalysis of glyoxylic acid on a thin TiO2 film is monitored using internal reflectance infrared spectroscopy.

Adsorbed thiosulfate intermediate of cadmium sulfide aqueous photocorrosion detected and characterized by in situ infrared spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The surface chemical and photochemical behavior of cadmium sulfide colloidal films in aqueous films was investigated through in situ infrared spectroscopy. A solution sulfate via an adsorbed thiosulfate intermediate was found to arise from the aqueous cadmium sulfide photocorrosion. The strong adsorption of thiosulfate and the weak adsorption of sulfate to cadmium sulfide explains the lack of thiosulfate detection during the occurrence of photocorrosion.
