Anionic hybrid threadlike micelle formation in an aqueous solution
Article Abstract:
The formation of hybrid threadlike micelles consisting of an anionic surfactant and relatively common, commercially available cationic polyelectrolytes in an aqueous solution is reported. Sodium tetradecylsulfate as an anionic surfactant and poly(N.N-diallyl-N-methylamine-ran-N.N-diallyl-N-ethyl-N-methylammonium bromide) as a polyelectrolyte are employed for the anionic hybrid threadlike micellar formation in the study.

Influence of a neutral polymer (PVP) on the solvatochromic properties of SDS micelles
Article Abstract:
The influence of a water-soluble neutral polymer (poly-N-vinyl pyrrolidin-2-one, PVP) on the Kamlet-Taft polarity parameters of sodium n-dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micelles is studied. The results revealed that the addition of polymer increases the pi(super *) value of SDS micelles, suggesting that PVP-SD aggregates have a larger dipolarity/polarizability than that of SDS micelles.

Use of fluorescence probes for characteristics of solvation properties of micelles: A linear solvation energy relationship study
Article Abstract:
The solvation properties of the micellar phase could be rationalized in terms of linear solvation energy relationship (LSER) using the Kamlet-Taft solvatochromic parameters. The parameters were determined by a LSER analysis of the fluorescence maximum of seven structurally similar dyes.
