Anomalous surfactant diffusion in a gel of chemically cross-linked ethyl (hydroxyethyl) cellulose
Article Abstract:
The interactions of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) with chemically cross-linked gels of ethyl (hydroxyethyl) cellulose (EHEC) were studied. The binding of SDS to the gels was measured with flame emission analysis of the sodium ion. The self-diffusion of the surfactant ion (DS) in the gels was studied by the NMR pulsed field gradient spin-echo technique. Both the experiments were performed on gels swollen to equilibrium in SDS solutions of varying concentrations.

Location of spectroscopic probes in self-aggregating assemblies. II. The location of pyrene and other probes in sodium dodecyl sulfate micelles
Article Abstract:
The location of pyrene in sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micelles is determined as a function of the aggregation number, N, by considering that spin probes 5- and 16-doxyl steric acid methyl esters are effective quenchers of pyrene fluorescence. Pyrene is chosen for the fluorophore as it dominates the studies of self-assembled aggregates and the specification of the location of a given probe is considered definitive only if it is consistent with all techniques.

The effects of concentration, pressure, and temperature on the diffusion coefficient and correlation length of SDS micelles
Article Abstract:
The study was done on the effects of sodium dodecyl sulfate's (SDS's) concentration, temperature and pressure on the cooperative diffusion coefficient by using static and light scattering techniques. The results show that the concentration is a function of temperature and pressure and they jointly affect the mean miscellar size.
