Application of the electronegativity equalization method to the interpretation of TSDC results: case of a mordenite exchanged by Na+ and Li+ cations
Article Abstract:
The chemical potential of the electrons of the exchange cation and of the host site in zeolites have been studied by measuring the dielectric relaxation through thermally stimulated depolarization current measurements. This approach affords the determination of parameters such as the effectiveness hardness and electronegativity of the sites of the zeolites. Dielectric relaxation has also been modeled by using the electronegativity equalization criteria or by the charge sensitivity analysis method.

Na+/mordenite interaction energy determined by thermally stimulated depolarization current
Article Abstract:
A thermally stimulated depolarization current (TSDC) technique was used to determine the different Na+ sites in a mordenite having different sodium concentrations and to examine the surface properties of a mordenite Na zeolite. Results showed that the dipolar reorientation is due to Na+ and the values of the energies range from 0.7 to 0.9 eV. Results also indicated that the TDSC is a very effective method for surface characterization.

Dielectric relaxation and far-infrared spectroscopic study of cation-site interactions in oxide glasses
Article Abstract:
The dielectric relaxation spectroscopy employing two different experimental techniques were carried out to investigate the alkali triborate glasses M2O.3B2O3, with M = Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs. The result shows that metal cations are embedded in at least two or three types of network sites.
