Artificial photosynthetic reaction centers with porphyrins as primary electron acceptors
Article Abstract:
Artificial photosynthetic reaction centers with porphyrins as primary electron acceptors is studied. Relatively simple models of photosynthetic reaction centers consisting of two porphyrins and a carotenoid covalently linked in series exhibit rather complex relaxation pathways following excitation of the porphyrin moieties.

Benzene- templated model systems for photosynthetic antenna-reaction center function
Article Abstract:
A convenient and flexible method for the synthesis of the hexaarylbenzene framework bearing porphyrin moieties has been developed. This method allows facile preparation of nonsymmetrical structures wherein various antenna moieties and electron-transfer components may be linked to some hexaphenylbenzene core.

Enzyme-based photoelectrochemical biofuel cell
Article Abstract:
It is shown that a hybrid cell can be prepared by combining the chemistry of a dye-sensitized photoelectrochemical cell and an enzyme-catalyzed biofuel cell. Several potential advantages that are possessed by the hybrid cells are discussed.
