Chain packing analysis of the passivating layer on nanocrystalline quantum dot surfaces

Article Abstract:

Organic passivant layer on nanomaterial surfaces are examined by correlating the phase behavior of the passivant using attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy, coupled with differential scanning calorimetry. Correlation of chain length suggests that in systems in which the radius of the particle is larger than the passivant layer thickness, chain-chain interactions dominate thermodynamic stabilities.

Photo thermal melting and energy migration in conjugated oligomer films doped with CdSe quantum dots

Article Abstract:

A study is carried out on the effect of thin film morphology on energy transfer and migration in host-guest systems involving a phenylene-ethynylene oligomer matrix doped with collodially prepared CdSe quantum dots. The findings show that annealing the film produces continuous domain structures that enhance excitation migration by extending the excitation diffusion length.

Energy transport in CdSe nanocrystals assembled with molecular wires

Article Abstract:

A study was done using continuous-wave photoluminescence on CdSe nanocrystals assembled with molecular wires. The results support the possibility that interchain reactions of molecular wires within the assembly form two additional species that participate in the energy transfer process, dimers and aggregate excitons.
