Charge renormalization in planar and spherical charged lipidic aqueous interfaces

Article Abstract:

The charge renormalization in planar and spherical charged lipidic aqueous interfaces are investigated by means of thermodynamic and electrokinetic measurements. The results have shown that a strong charge renormalization occurs, whose strength depends on the geometry of the mesoscopic system, and the dependence of the effective charge on the bare charge is discussed with respect to analytical approximation based on the Poisson-Boltzmann equation.

Structure and adsorption of a hard-core multi-Yukawa fluid confined in a slitlike pore: Grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation and density functional theory

Article Abstract:

The performance of the established density functional theory is tested by carrying out Grand canonical ensemble Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulations to obtain the density profiles and adsorption isotherms of the hard-core multi-Yukawa fluid in the slitlike pore at different temperatures and densities. Both the DFT and the GCMC simulations predict the depletion of the multi-Yukawa fluid near a nonattractive wall.

Prediction of global vapor-liquid equilibria for mixtures containing polar and associated components with improved renormalization group theory

Article Abstract:

The improved renormalization group (RG) theory is further reformulated within the context of density functional theory. It is demonstrated that the RG theory incorporated with the solution of FMSA is a promising route for describing the global phase behavior of complex fluid and mixtures.
