Cluster-associated filling of water in hydrophobic carbon micropores
Article Abstract:
The pore-wall chemistry of activated carbon fiber (ACF) was controlled by heating in Ar and H(sub 2). The ACF structures were characterized from various levels, and interaction of water vapor with the micropores of ACF was directly measured by calorimetry. Two kinds of pitch-based ACFs with different pore widths (w) (P5, w = 0.7 nm, and P20, w = 1.0 nm) were used.

High-pressure study of adamantane: Variable shape simulations up to 26 GPa
Article Abstract:
Simulations of adamantane are reported by carefully combining ab initio empirical approaches to enable simulations with internal degrees of freedom on crystalline adamantane up to pressure of 26 GPa. Two sets of simulations are carried out as a function of pressure of 26 GPa to understand changes in the crystal structure as well as molecular structure.

Molecular geometry-sensitive filling in semi-rectangular micropores of organic-inorganic hybrid crysals
Article Abstract:
A series of Cu complex assembled compounds with stable pillared layer and noninterpenetrated structure were synthesized and measured the adsorption isotherms of N(sub-2), Ar, and CO(sub-2) on these compounds. The microporosity of the compounds was confirmed by N(sub-2), Ar, and CO(sub-2) adsorption.
