Comparison of Proutiere and Carr-Zimm theories for static light-scattering molecular weight determination: Application to surfactants in solution
Article Abstract:
A comparative study of the classical Carr-Zimm (CZ) method and the Proutiere's theory of molecular weight uses Rayleigh scattering to measure the refractive index, time-averaged scattering intensity and the density of the surfactants in solution. The analysis reveals that the Proutiere's method is more effective than the CZ method, as it also accounts for the specific mean polarizability of the solvent, as well as the solution density with respect to the solute mass concentration.

Phase behavior of homologous perfluoropolyether surfactants: NMR, SAXS, and optical microscopy
Article Abstract:
Self-assembled structures formed by perfluoropolyether (PFPE) carboxylates with hydrophobic chain terminated by Cl-C3F6O, and either sodium or ammonium counterions are explored in aqueous binary systems. The different counterion-specific micelles and liquid crystals formed are focused upon.
